Forest Veil (formerly known as Moniker) was birthed in the misty peaks and valleys of the Northwest pines. Inspired by echoes of the elusive muse, Forest Veil creates music that explores the emotional terrain of humanity and the cosmos. With a mix of enchanting vocals, psychedelic guitar riffs, and enigmatic lyricism, Forest Veil’s music evokes a haunting nostalgia inspired by other worlds, spirits, and the troubadours of time. Though she writes and records many songs on her own, Forest Veil plays live shows with a full band (drums, bass, guitar, and keys/synth).
Her first release under this new moniker, Zoolights, contains songs and soundscapes (collected from her personal Death Ritual travels) that sonically explore the tapestry of grief, enduring love, loss, and resilience found in the beauty of life and death. Encompassed by soulful melodies, hymnal percussions, and psychedelic reveries, listeners run the risk of becoming wholly hypnotized. Zoolights (to be released in August 2016) was co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Luke Hall at MVM Studios in Portland, Oregon and features Johanna Warren and Chris Johnedis.
