Ed Wells

Ed Wells is a young singer/songwriter with the rare distinction of breaking through in Australia and London at the same time. He combines a dark, yet powerful voice with highly accomplished piano skills and a level of songwriting maturity that goes well beyond his age. He describes his style as an eclectic mix of alternative folk/soul/pop with musical influences such as Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard, Vance Joy and Matt Corby.

Ed has spent much of 2014 in the UK, where he followed up radio airplay with a spot on stage at the world famous “Troubador Club” in London where Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello and Adele have all performed.

It’s been an amazing ride for the 20-year-old who spent time growing up between London, Hong Kong and Sydney. He describes his style as an eclectic mix of alternative folk/soul with musical influences as broad as Jeff Buckley, Ben Howard, Vance Joy and Matt Corby.

After attracting attention from several labels in the UK, Ed returned to Australia in early 2015 to release his brand new single ‘Sparrow and Seed’, accompanied by an East Coast tour.

“husky voiced piano man par excellence…(with) a voice that would melt butter” – The AU Review, April 2014

Ed is now focusing all his attention on writing and developing his sound which will be heard in his single ‘Snow’.

He is hoping to introduce subtle electronic elements into his new music alongside his folk/soul style.
