Your Careless Spark
In the music of Your Careless Spark, trace elements of melancholics like Elbow, Turin Brakes, The National or Bon Iver are embedded deeply in the band’s very own sound, a sound that takes the apparent antipoles of quiet/loud and melancholy/enthusiastic and locks them in a room together. After playing numerous concerts with such musical neighbors like The Black Atlantic, Rue Royale, Wintersleep, Fenster, Marble Man, Sea & Air, Mister & Mississippi or Agent Fresco under a temporary name, Your Careless Spark released their first album (of the same name), a record that feels like an approaching summer storm: Enthusiastic, melancholy, polarising. The quiet and the storm, featherweight and heavy as the load it takes off our minds. A year later, they followed with a five track EP “Ashes” and are currently in the studio recording their sophomore LP.
