Queen Cult
Queen Cult are a femme-queer fronted four piece developing rock band based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, formed by Maisie Johnson and Leila Jacklin, with Brodie Carson on drums and Piers Jarvis playing rhythm guitar. With references as broad as No Doubt, Paramore, Royal Blood, Nothing But Thieves and more, Queen Cult released their debut single ‘Shindigger’ in June 2019 which was supported at Spotify via the Best New Bands playlist and also through BBC Introducing, where they were interviewed and did a live session.
Queen Cult have been busy behind the scenes through the pandemic, delaying their ongoing release plans till they could perform live again. In 2020 they built their own live studio in a Mill near Macclesfield and focussed on their writing. They are now ready-ing their debut EP for release in early 2022, starting with a new single ‘Show & Tell,’ released on September, 17th.
Very much a live focussed band, Queen Cult debuted as a four piece at the Your City Festival in Stoke in July 2021, performed at the debut Pssy Culture night in Sheffield in August and are confirmed to perform at the re-scheduled Hit The North Festival in October, with more shows being added. They identify as LBGTQ+.
