Emma McGrath

Emma McGrath is a 19 year old singer-songwriter heralding from Harpenden, North London. Writing her own material since 2013 she self-released her first EP, 'The Judgement', in November 2014. December 2015 saw the follow up single ‘Sit With Me’ catch the attention of key media, including BBC Introducing who awarded it Track Of The Week twice. Topping off a great 2015 Emma was awarded The PRS Foundation's Lynsey de Paul prize.

The following 18 months saw Emma build up a close network of writers who helped develop her craft and hone her sound. In May 2017, recognising her growing potential, the PRS Foundation awarded Emma a 'Women Make Music' grant for the development and subsequent release of a mini album. Recorded with Grammy Award winner Jimmy Hogarth and Brit School alumni Jackson, Emma's sophomore EP, 'Silent Minds’, was self-released in April 2018 through AWAL to high critical acclaim. The first single, 'Love You Better’, featured on Spotify’s NMF US playlist has achieved over 1.5m streams to date.

Keen to produce a follow up to top Pt. I, and with the continued support of the PRSF, this time in the shape of an Open Music Fund grant, work on Pt. II was completed in May of this year. Always envisaged as a triptych of EPs under the ’Silent Minds’ banner, the first single, ‘Other Side’, sees Emma venture into the world of pop without abandoning her roots and is scheduled for release on July 5th. The EP, ‘Keep Your Eyes Open’ (Silent Minds Pt. II) is slated for release in Autumn 2019 through Young Poet Records.
